About Mama Milk Fairy
At Mama Milk Fairy, we specialize in handcrafted keepsake jewelry made from your own breastmilk, DNA, or other meaningful inclusions. Each piece is created with precision, care, and a deep understanding of the emotional value it holds.
Founded in 2019, Mama Milk Fairy began with one mother’s desire to preserve a meaningful chapter in her life—the breastfeeding journey. What started as a personal project soon grew into a professional business serving clients worldwide. Today, Mama Milk Fairy is known for its high-quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, and heartfelt customer service.
A Story That Started with Breastfeeding
My name is Tessa Hofman, and I’m the founder and artist behind Mama Milk Fairy. As a mom of two boys living in Vancouver, Canada, I know firsthand the highs and lows of breastfeeding. With my first son, I assumed nursing would come naturally—but it didn’t. Painful early days nearly led me to give up until a lactation consultant helped me and my baby learn together. That support changed everything.
With my second baby, nursing came easily thanks to what I had learned. These experiences taught me how important knowledge and community are in breastfeeding—and inspired me to support other mothers through my art.
From Liquid Gold to Lasting Legacy
Breastmilk is more than nourishment—it’s a symbol of connection, resilience, and love. It contains antibodies, enzymes, micronutrients, and natural healing properties. When my own breastfeeding journey came to a close, I wanted something tangible to remember it by. That’s when I created my first piece of breastmilk jewelry.
What began as a personal keepsake quickly turned into a passion for creating high-quality, custom jewelry that celebrates every type of story. Whether you're a breastfeeding mother, honoring a loved one with ashes or hair, or preserving a special flower or fabric, I treat every inclusion with care and respect.
Professionally Trained & Personally Invested
I am a certified graduate of the Breastmilk and DNA Jewelry Academy, where I learned professional preservation techniques and how to work safely with delicate inclusions like breastmilk, ashes, umbilical cord, hair, flowers, and more. All jewelry is handmade in my home studio in Vancouver and shipped worldwide.
When I’m Not Creating Keepsakes…
Outside the studio, I spend time with my husband and sons, enjoying the outdoors, camping, and horseback riding. My horse Jewel keeps me grounded—yes, that's really her name! I also love learning new techniques and continue to invest in training and craftsmanship to ensure I offer the very best to my clients.
A Mission Beyond Jewelry
My goal is to help other moms feel proud of their journeys—whatever those journeys look like. In addition to creating keepsakes, I run a free Breastfeeding Support Group on Facebook, offering evidence-based information and encouragement to moms around the world.
